Years ago I gave Flufferella a present on the first day of school to make that day something to look forward to. It worked. She expected a present for the first day of school this year and reminded me of that before we set off by scooter to the elementary school. So an hour before she got home from the first day of school, I stopped by Michael’s and picked up a Halloween book, a flower headband craft kit, a $5 silicone watch, a York peppermint patty, and a little silver frame. She was delighted!
Today I found the frame in her room.
Hahahaha!!!! I love it. I need like 50 of these signs to put up around my house. My garage is full of molding and custom cut trim boards which need to be primed, painted and put up around my house on the many walls that “will be upgraded later.”
But I did want to show you doubters that two chairs and my new media credenza arrived during the baby shower last Saturday.
Here’s an in-progress shot. Don’t judge the final version by this, but here’s where the family room matter currently stands. I actually have a visceral aversion to neutrals, but I decided to go for a neutral pallet in here so I can really change things up seasonally.
I’m not a fan of orange. I never decorate any rooms of my house orange–except for the three months of the year in which half the rooms of my house are decorated orange for fall. No one lives up to their ideals 100% of the time.
It’s day 3 of the first week of school, and I’m half dead. My voice is tired from teaching and practicing. I’ve missed 3 workouts. I haven’t sent back some wallpaper I didn’t like. But I did put out a bunch of leaves and pumpkins, photograph them, and post them on my blog, so I’m going to call this week a triumph!
