I remember our dismay at finding out Fluffy was going to be a girl rather than the Lincoln George with whom Kent had envisioned shooting hoops and playing Call of Duty. Another sign of how far over to the pink side we’ve gone since then is that Kent downloaded a couple of the latest incarnations of Farmville for Fluffy called Flutter and Fairy Fashion. He seems to have gotten into them enough to have kept them afloat even when he was in Texas for work last week. I know how addictive these things can be after I rapidly maxed out my tank on Aquarium a couple years ago.
So last night at 1:20am when Kent was still fiddling with the iPad, I asked:
Me: Are you feeding the butterflies again?
Kent: (Indignantly) No! I’m making dresses for the fairies.
Me: Is there anything you’d like to tell me?
Kent: (Laughing) No.
Me: Do you even let Fluffy play that game anymore?
Kent: I do, but it’s a disaster. I’ll log in and find like five sets of clothes made in the closet, but none of them match the orders. And there are all these other orders that haven’t been fulfilled. Everything goes to pot on her shift.
In other news, who wants to read Crime and Punishment with me? I’m leading the discussion on C&P for book group the first week of October, and I was considering doing an ongoing series working through it week by week. Or I could just post my full notes next month. Let me know if there’s any interest on this. I once tried to force a bunch of people to study Handel’s The Messiah in 5 installments before Christmas and it went over like a lead balloon, so tell me now before I put any effort into it.
