My countertops are in both in the kitchen and in all of the bathrooms, and it’s safe to say I love them! (What little boy? You don’t see nuthin’!)
My friend and soon to be neighbor loves them, too. We were already considering going halvsies on an order of calacutta gold subway tile for our backsplashes. Then yesterday after she saw my countertops for the first time, she called to ask if it would be weird if she got the same countertops, too. “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?” she asked. I said, “Do it!”
So what if our countertops and backsplash are the same, and we both have dark islands with white perimeter cabinets, and we live 3 doors down from each other and run in mostly the same circles? I think it’s cool. And I think this granite would look amazing with her more traditional cabinets and black, rubbed finish island.
I think it looks mighty fine with mine as well. It’s light and pretty, but not remotely so white that it won’t camouflage every speck and crumb. I’m happy!
As for the bathroom which is beginning to exist more in the real world than in my imagination, I am delighted.
It is mostly grouted by now, which makes it look infinitely better than in these pictures, but you can still get the idea.
The shots don’t show the sparkle in the countertop granite, but trust me, it’s there.
And the listello will be nice and shiny, too, once I get to it with a bottle of Windex.
The floors for the laundry room turned out great, too.
This is still a long way from the final version of Fluffy’s bathroom which I have in my mind, but it’s a start.
