I had the great, great honor of decorating for my sister’s wedding. This was the third wedding I have planned, and my best. And I was pregnant with twins at the time. She had an amazing outdoor garden party which just got more beautiful throughout the evening.
Jennifer began by selecting this gorgeous ribbon dress, which set the tone for all of the ribbon decorations.
She bought a ton of pink and white ribbon which ended up in everything including ribbon wands for the flower girls. We are still trying to use up all that ribbon 3.5 years later. (A note on Fluffy’s hair. You know I would normally never let her out to a special occasion without special occasion hair. However, since I was decorating for the wedding all day, Kent was in charge of Fluffy’s coiffure. All is explained.)
Thin ribbons suspended candle votives aroung the lighted gazebo.
Because we were heading for dusk and dark hours, we used a lot of twinkle lights, candles, and luminaries, only a couple of which caught fire during the course of the night.
Naturally, Jenn chose Georgetown Cupcakes over a wedding cake. I had the crew hang candle lanterns by long thick pink ribbon on the garden wall as well as curtains of lights behind the cake table.
Flufferella was super excited by all the cupcakes she was allowed to eat.
Well, not all night. At about 40 minutes past her bedtime, she turned catatonic which cracked everyone up.
Congratulations to Jennifer and Jeremy on the birth of their gorgeous daughter a couple of weeks ago!
