I’ve been trying to win converts to this amazing sprayground in the Franconia area. Yes, it involves a bit of a drive down the beltway, but it is the Clemyjontri of spraygrounds and deserves to be visited. Can you believe all this is free? You just have to remember to have pool shoes (or crocs, not flip-flops) for all your water babies.
There are two large water table complexes for the pre-walking set to enjoy.
Even bigger kids enjoy the tables.
There are dozens of spray features for kids of all sizes.
The boys loved crawling around the pint-sized geyser gauntlet.
Salty took a while to warm up to this whole idea.
But Peppers was going nutso with delight the whole time. He loves the water, and loves to crawl around open spaces. This was the happiest day of his life.
There are two boats with all sorts of spray guns, fountains, water umbrellas and whatnot for bigger kids to enjoy.
Sea Serpent, anyone?
There are changing rooms and canopies with lots of chairs, though I had to be in the middle of the action with these guys rather than watching from the sidelines. And you can take your stroller in! Phew.
If you have any energy left over, there is a large playground with lots of climbing features and a very soft footpad right outside the spray ground.
You can’t see it well, but the little path in the background leads to a “treehouse” which is a lovely covered bridgelike structure through the woods. Perfect spot for a picnic–and a game of nature I Spy or tag.
Such a great place. Give it a try, folks.
