Fluffy: Can you play tennis when you’re 5?
F: Can you play tennis when you’re 6?
F: Can you play tennis when you’re all the ages of everybody?
Me: Yes. When you’re little you play tennis against other little kids. Then when you’re bigger you can play tennis against people who are bigger–unless you’re really great. Then you can play against bigger people even when you’re little. But it takes a lot of practice to get really great at tennis.
F: Mom, you’re kind of like the tiger mother because you’re forcing us to be great.
Me: Fluffy, I’m not forcing you to be great.
F: What? Why?
Me: Do you want me to force you?
F: Yeah! Because I want to be great!

F: Mom, are you frozen?
F: Are you frozen?
F: I thought you were frozen.
Me: Why did you think I was frozen?
F: I thought there were guns with ice that people shoot at other people so they will be in ice. Is Despicable Me real?
F: I wonder when God will make another rainbow.
Me: Probably the next time there’s rain and sun. You’ll see a lot of rainbows in your lifetime, Fluffy, but probably not today.
F: HF, Please bless the rain and sun will come together to make a rainbow that we can see on our drive home. In the name of JC, Amen.
F: Let’s tell stories!
Me: Okay, you go first.
F: Once upon a time there was a little giraffe. This is not a giraffe story. It’s a turtle story, but it just starts with a giraffe. Once upon a time there was a little giraffe, and he met a little turtle. And the turtle met him. They met each other. Then there was a big crab, and the crab met the turtle and the giraffe. Then all the kinds of animals met each other and got together as a family and decided who would be who in the family. The end.
Me: That was a nice turtle story.
F: Your turn.
M: Okay, I’m going to tell you a story of everything we said in the car. (Recap commences.)
F: Mom, are you blogging all of this?
Me: You’re darn right I am.
