I sang the audition this morning which has been stressing me out for weeks through this demonic laryngitis. So Kent came home and was like, “Who is this pleasant person smiling at people and interacting with full engagement, and what have you done with my wife?”
I felt light as a feather after the audition, not so much because the audition went well as because it was over. I had such a lovely post-audition glow while driving around looking at Halloween decorations with my preschoolers.
Peppers: I’m about to see a pumpkin. Oh, this is going to be so exciting!
Then all my students today were amazing. The sky was bluer, the kids were cuter, the chocolate was chocolatier, and I had a great time at a church dinner. Then I came home whistling a happy tune and found an email saying I passed the audition. So now I’m instantly back to square stressed because I have to prepare my concert repertoire.
Nah. I’m taking a break from worry to enjoy fall and a visit from the original best mother in the world, my very own Mama Susan!
Remember how days ago I said I would post pictures tomorrow of my trim progress. Well this time I mean it.
In the meanwhile, check out my new jewelry armoire!
This is a radical upgrade to the plastic bin full of tangled necklaces and mateless earrings it replaced. Having my stuff displayed like this has made me use more of it. And for a final treat, please enjoy this mirror shot with phantom running child like that super creepy kid in that one scene of Three Men and a Baby.
