A few weeks ago, my aunt sent me a message asking if I would like anything special from my grandma’s house. Grandma had been in assisted living for a while by that time, and the family was going through her things preparing to rent the house. I said I would be happy with anything, so my aunt Elaine chose this miniature tea set because she had seen my living room on my blog and thought the color would be just right.
I was thrilled with the set, and I’ve had them displayed in the living room every since. It’s nice to think something lovely has gone from her touch-and-you-die! room to mine.
My grandma Lorna passed away Saturday. She knew I loved her. She knew I thought her chili sauce was everything. She knew I was sorry we didn’t live closer. Nothing went unsaid, so I have no real regrets, but I’m sad just the same. I miss my grandma.
This is the song my Grandpa Jack used to sing to her as a make-up song throughout their marriage.
