Preschool starts next week, so we’ve been trying to cram into two weeks all of summer activities that we’ve been too languid to attempt over the past 3 months. We’ve gone through a lot of sunscreen and squeezy fruit snacks.
Above the kids are at the National Zoo. You saw the pictures of the Renaissance Festival in Maryland. We also went to the National Aquarium at Baltimore and then the National Aquarium in D.C.–which is precisely the wrong order since the later is perilously underwhelming by comparison.
I even took the whole troupe to a pool party. I can’t tell you how much trying to man a toddler and two babies around drowning-level water makes me want to slit wrist. Do I sign Fluffy up for swimming lessons again as she requested, or do I give myself a 9-month break from the pool? If she learns to swim, then these pool trips will potentially be less painful, right?
