I didn’t get to as many things today as I had hoped since I took the kids swimming and went to a voice lesson with my own teacher. Tacea la notte placida? Me? Okay.
But I did put together Fluffy’s new lamps. I tried painting them with a stripe to match the table I have already refinished in there, but I didn’t like it, so I wiped it off before it dried.
I tried putting the same ribbon as is on her curtains around the top and bottom of the shades, but I didn’t like it. For one thing, it would need to be perfectly matched bias tape to lay nicely on the flared edge of a bell shade. I tried putting flowers on the shade to match the flowers on the bird cages, but I didn’t like it. Then I tied a ribbon around the candlestick base, and guess what? Fluffy and I both really, really liked it. I also liked that it’s going to be easy to change when she outgrows this look. I’m not going to even think about that. Done.
I also started the work of refinishing the table for my masterbath. You can see I’ve done one leg here and that it looks way better than the ones beside it. The artificial light in the garage makes it look much redder and yellower than in natural light, but my daughter is begging me to go eat some ice cream and watch TV with her, so I’m not going to fix that right now.
This table reminds me of this picture of Amy Schummer standing arm in arm with Jennifer Lawrence. Not sure why….
