Kent: Peppers, do you want to go to Disneyworld?
Peppers: No!! (starting to cry) That will make me tired!
Kent: but don’t you want to go on The People Mover?
Peppers: (seeing the trap, but powerless to resist) Yes. Okay.
Things I definitely do not miss from last trip to Disneyland:
2. Nap schedules
4. Lap tickets on the plane
5. The plane ride generally
6. The fact that the boys would not watch any screens on the plane ride.
7. Inviolable 7pm bedtime.
Everything has been easier and more fun this time around. The awesome thing is the boys are tall enough to go on everything except Space Mountain, and intrepid Salty keeps asking to go on all the “super fast” rides. The sad thing is that despite their 5 year-old height, the boys are actually still 3, and Peppers just wants to go on Winnie the Pooh and People Mover in peace.
Last night Kent took Peppers home while Fluffs, Salty and I crammed in 10, yes 10, rides in the last hour the park was open, including three times on Seven Dwarves. In fact we beat the rope-off by a split second and were the very last people in line for Seven Dwarves at 11:07 last night. It was kind of spooky. The kids were so excited about that particular distinction. I can’t tell whether this makes me the greatest mom ever or the most irresponsible, but whatever.
Now if only I could get Salty to stop trying to drink ketchup from a straw….
