I sent the Kent Kemeny to the Home Depot for several cans of black spray paint and he came back with those as well as Glow In the Dark spray paint and chalk board spray paint.
And then he and the kids gathered up a bunch of things from around the house including Little People toys, die cast planes, cardboard boxes, silk flowers, a twisty branch for a wand, and other odds and ends. They then spray painted them with glow in the dark paint in the garage. Sounds like something I would do.
It was my turn to be sceptical of a project, and indeed, on its own the glow paint is very weak, next to useless. But Kent had a few LED black lights and a laser up his sleeve.
So the kids have been in the art room with their flashlights super glowing their objects and drawing on the spray painted cardboard for quite some time now.
And this is only their first session. See that smiley face Pepper’s drew with his flashlight on that plate?
I have to say this is even better than pink slime and Mentos fountains. Way to go Science Dad. Can’t wait to see what they do with the chalkboard spray paint. Famous last words.
