My master bathroom is very big. It’s probably four times the size of the bathroom in our rental. Which led me to remark:
Me: This bathroom needs like a couch and a tv.
Kent: Yeah, so you have some place to sit down and rest after walking all the way across the bathroom.
Which brings me to my latest observation: every room needs a couch and a tv. I have been over a full week without television now, and I miss it terribly. I wish I were multitasking television right now. Instead of having my usual trash television on in the background while I unpack and organize, I have watched Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Bridget Jones’ Diary (a.k.a. Pride and Prejudice remixxed), and even Northanger Abbey. Today I tried to put in Under the Tuscan Sun, but the Xbox had had all the chic flicks it could stomach and refused to play it or even recognize it as a movie which I think shows a certain amount of good taste.
As I was watering the lawn a couple days ago, Fluffernutterflutterbutter said to me:
Fluffy: Mom, when are you going to get your own TV show? You should be a designer.
Fluffy: I mean, I don’t want to add more work to all that you have to do, but I just know you would be great.
This after we had recently played Sarah and Tommy (of Sarah Richardson Designs and various HGTV and HGTV Canada design shows). I love talking about design with my Flufferella as we paint color samples on her walls. Why she gets to be the lead designer and always makes me play Tommy I don’t quite get. And yes, I still get the occasional congratulations or I hate you so much in regards to my April Fools prank. Oy vey!
And Salty’s quest to sleep on all the square footage of this new home continues. Yesterday, despite the incredibly napable new sectional in the next room, I found Saltster sleeping on the hardwood floor in the foyer. And this is him under his bed. For my taste, I would rather be one foot higher on the top of the mattress, but to each his own.
