Attention Parents: The Wegman’s in Sterling has a children’s center! After my kids did their three hours of classes at the gym today, I took them straight to Wegman’s for the 1.5 hours of free child care that was due me as a shopper and a mother. It was amazing. I got everything on my list and even had time to aimlessly walk around with a giant grin on my face while I ran out the clock on my 90 minutes.
Oh, how I used to live for shopping child-free when I had babysitting for a chunk of time each week. Things I don’t have to do anymore: 1) serve Goldfish and stale Lucky Charms for dinner at the end of the week because I refuse to torture myself with more than one trip to the grocery store with kids per week, 2) drive all the way to IKEA in Woodbridge just to get my 30 minutes of nag free shopping, 3) try to cram a week’s supply of groceries into the abbreviated cart with the two-seater race car thing, 4) disdain the singleton moms who take all the two-seater race car cart thingers with the vitriol normally reserved for Kiss & Ride line cutters.
This is the most civilized advancement of the human race I’ve seen since movie theaters started doing assigned seating.
